Western Pacific Appoints New Board Member

 Vancouver, BC, Canada -- August 17, 2016 -- Western Pacific Resources Corp. ("Western Pacific" or "the Company") (TSX-V: WRP) is pleased to announce the appointment of Gary Young to the Board of Directors.

Mr. Young holds a BS degree in Geophysics from the University of Arizona. His employment experience includes applications, R&D, and senior management in subsurface geophysics for mining, oil and gas, environmental, and infrastructure. He worked for Exxon Production Research Company, Argonne National Laboratory, Vermeer Corporation and Underground Imaging Technologies (UIT). Mr. Young is a licensed professional geophysicist in the State of Texas and Certified Professional Geologist. He is Senior Vice President for UIT, a Caterpillar affiliate company. Mr. Young was the conceptual developer and chief scientist of the geophysical technology platform offered by UIT for imaging the subsurface and mapping utilities. He was the Principal Investigator for the National Academy of Sciences, Transportation Research Board, SHRP2 R01B research project for development of the next generation multi-sensor platform for utility mapping.
